Welcome, explorer! At Social.sol (”we,” “us,” or “our”), we believe that owning your voice and your data is a fundamental right. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Social.sol mobile application (the “App”) and interact with the Social Protocol — a public, decentralized protocol built on the Solana blockchain (collectively, our “Services”).
1. Why This Policy Matters
Using Social.sol means you are taking part in an on-chain social network. On-chain activity is public and permanent by design. Every post, reaction, vote, ad-claim, or other action you sign and send to the blockchain is visible to anyone who queries the Solana ledger. Think of it as writing on digital stone rather than a private notebook. This policy tells you what that means for your privacy and what additional off-chain data we (and our partners) collect to make the App run smoothly.
2. Scope of This Policy
This policy covers:
On-chain data you broadcast through the App to the Social Protocol.
Off-chain data we collect through the App, our websites, or customer-support channels.
How that data is used, stored, and shared.
It does not cover data practices of third-party wallets, Solana RPC providers, other dApps, or community-built front-ends that also plug into the Social Protocol.
3. The Information We Process
3.1 Public, On-Chain Information
When you interact with the Social Protocol, you sign transactions with your wallet. The resulting on-chain records include (but are not limited to):
Your wallet address (a public-key hash).
Posts (message text and any attached media hash).
Reactions and votes on posts.
Ad-claim transactions and any earned token rewards.
Other protocol events (e.g., profile updates, follows, unfollows).
Important: Anyone — not just us — can view, copy, analyze, or archive this data forever. We cannot change or delete it, even at your request.
3.2 Off-Chain Information
To give you a fast, responsive experience, we collect a minimal set of off-chain data:

We do not collect your private keys; they always stay in your wallet.
4. How We Use Information
Provide core functionality – render your timeline, deliver notifications, and process transactions.
Improve and personalize – surface content relevant to your economic profile, recommend filters, and localize the UI.
Maintain security – detect bots, spam, or abusive behavior.
Comply with law – meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms.
We never sell your personal data. Any monetization you see in-App (e.g., ads you explicitly opt into) flows directly to you via on-chain rewards.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
5.1 Public Blockchain
Your on-chain activity is automatically shared with the world by virtue of being recorded on Solana. We cannot restrict access, nor can we remove it later.
5.2 Service Providers
We work with trusted partners who help us operate the App (cloud hosting for off-chain assets, analytics, customer-support tools). They receive only the data needed to perform their services and must follow strict confidentiality obligations.
5.3 Legal or Safety Reasons
We may disclose off-chain data when required by law or to prevent harm. This does not empower us to edit or suppress on-chain data.
5.4 Business Transfers
If we reorganize or merge, this policy will continue to apply, and you’ll be notified of material changes.
6. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest for off-chain data, isolate key services, and conduct regular audits. However, no online service is 100 % secure. Protect your wallet keys — losing them may expose your account to unauthorized on-chain actions we can’t reverse.
7. Your Choices & Rights
Non-custodial design – You can switch wallets or front-ends at any time. Your on-chain content follows you.
Delete off-chain data – Email [email protected] from the address tied to your account, and we’ll erase logs we control (it will not touch the blockchain).
Opt-out of analytics – You can toggle “Share anonymous usage data” off in Settings.
Do-Not-Track – We honor browser DNT signals on our website.
Residents of certain jurisdictions (e.g., EU, UK, California) may have additional rights. We respect them — reach out, and we’ll help.
8. Children’s Privacy
Social.sol is not directed to children under 13 (or higher age where required). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We’ll post any updates here and change the “Effective Date” above. Material changes will be highlighted in-App at least 7 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Services after that means you accept the revised policy.
