Wallet Profiling
Our feed and ad-auction engine rely on a powerful—but privacy-respectful—method of classifying wallets by economic behaviour rather than personal data.
1. Why Profile Wallets?
Smarter Discovery – Surface posts and communities that match your on-chain interests (e.g., DeFi power users see lending alpha, NFT collectors see art drops).
Fairer Ad Auctions – Advertisers bid on economically relevant groups, not your identity. Higher relevance = fewer spam ads.
User Control – Profiles are generated from public blockchain data—no cookies, no tracking pixels, nothing off-chain.
2. Two Axes of Classification
Axis
What We Look At
Outcomes
Interest Class
Which tokens, NFTs, and protocols you use
DeFi, NFT, Memecoin, Trader, Explorer, Gambler, Validator, Tourist, Scammer
Risk Mind-set
Leveraged plays, unknown protocols, token quality
Disciplined (cautious) or Degen (risk-seeking)
Every wallet starts in Disciplined. If we spot on-chain signs of higher risk (looping leverage, micro-cap memecoins, rugs, etc.), it flips to Degen.
3. Size & Activity Layers
Once a group grows, we add more granularity:
Size Tiers – Whale (> $100k), Dolphin, Fish, Shrimp, Plankton (< $100).
Activity Levels – Daily, Weekly, or Occasional based on transaction cadence.
These layers help advertisers fine-tune bids only when enough wallets exist to preserve anonymity.
4. Interest Indicators (Examples)
Class
Disciplined Signal
Degen Signal
DeFi
Uses major protocols (Kamino, Jupiter DCA) with little leverage
Uses unknown yield farms, high leverage loops
NFT
Holds blue-chip NFTs for months
Trades low-cap or rugged collections at high velocity
Memecoin
Holds large-cap memecoins (BONK, WIF)
Rapidly flips low-mcap memecoins on pump.fun style launchpads
Trader
Repeats swing trades in top tokens on reputable venues
Trades dozens of tokens across fringe venues
Explorer
Experiments with big new protocols after audits
Tries very new, unaudited dApps immediately
Gambler
Deposits to known on-chain casinos
—
Validator
Sends frequent vote transactions
—
Tourist
Fewer than 10 lifetime transactions
—
Scammer
Receives funds from hack labels or distributes scam NFTs
—
5. How the Algorithm Works (High-Level)
Data Load – We ingest public wallet data: balances, tokens, NFTs, transaction history—nothing private.
Metric Scoring
• Portfolio Tier (micro → whale)
• Risk Score (stablecoins vs. micro-caps)
• Token & Protocol Flags (DeFi, NFT, bridges, gambling)
• Activity Stats (Tx count, program diversity, recency)
Rule Engine – Deterministic rules map scores to classes (e.g., ≥30 % unknown DeFi = DeFi Degen).
Group Assignment – Wallet joins every group it qualifies for (e.g., NFT Degen · Fish · Weekly).
Continuous Updates – Profiles refresh periodically; improve your behavior and you can move back to Disciplined.
Privacy Note: No single wallet is ever exposed to advertisers—only aggregate group IDs are.
6. Current Disciplined & Degen Protocol Lists
Disciplined Examples
Degen Examples
Kamino Finance, Drift, Jupiter DCA, MarginFi
pump.fun, Axiom, BullX, Trojan, LetsBonk
Lists are community-curated and open-source; suggest edits anytime.
7. Group Combination Roadmap
Phase 1 – Interest-only (live now).
Phase 2 – Interest + Size (once groups >500 wallets).
Phase 3 – Interest + Size + Activity (high-density groups).
8. What This Means for You
For Users – More relevant feeds, fewer scams, transparent profile labels you can view (or opt to hide).
For Advertisers – Precision targeting without intrusive surveillance; pay only for wallets that meet your goals.
